 Student Development Office

As Student Development staff, we work together with faculty in the common task of enabling Wheaton students to integrate their faith, learning, and living. We are committed to providing resources, programs, and service opportunities that help foster a sense of Christian community. Co-curricular activities are geared to encourage thought and action that reflect and complement the student's classroom experience. Essential goals of life together in our community are to model commitment to Jesus Christ and to promote habits of lifelong learning.

Students are at a point in their lives when they are preparing for the future and developing a sense of individual identity. Because relationships are at the very heart of community, a guiding and fundamentally important component of our ministry with students is the "touching of life-to-life." We provide a variety of opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and to participate in ministry, including being involved in a personal mentoring relationship with a Student Development staff member. Our hope is that as students learn to depend on God's grace for growth during their college years, they will develop priorities and habits of the heart that will enable them to be servant leaders to serve the church and contribute to society as alumni.

The Student Development office provides oversight for Residence Life & Housing, Student Activities, the Office of Christian Outreach, Career Services, the Counseling Office, the Office of Multicultural Development, Health Services, and the Athletics Department.
