Missionary Kids (MKs)/Third-Culture Kids (TCKs)
Wheaton College is a diverse institution that promotes a global perspective and embraces students from all walks of life. Our student body is made up of men and women from all 50 states and more than 40 different countries. Currently, there are over 140 missionary kids and third culture kids on campus, and we are eager to welcome more.
Wheaton is committed to assisting missionary kids and third culture kids during their transition to college life in the United States. Incoming freshmen MK and TCK students are invited to a special gathering during Orientation week, giving them an opportunity to meet their classmates from overseas. After Orientation, Wheaton’s chapter of Mu Kappa provides fellowship for MKs and TCKs, creating a place for them to find camaraderie with peers who have enjoyed similar cross-cultural experiences. Additionally, a caring residence life staff, supportive faculty, and the Mu Kappa advisor are available for encouragement and mentoring.
Here is what some of our current students from overseas are saying about their experience at Wheaton:
- “It’s obvious God wanted me here. The Lord has designed my life and blessed me through my friends, teachers, classes, and experiences at Wheaton.”
- “Wheaton has been a great place for me to learn. My professors have been great at being both academic and spiritual mentors.”
- “I definitely felt more accepted and understood at Wheaton than I would have anywhere else.”
- “I did receive financial aid, and it was very generous. I definitely would not be able to attend without it."
Financial Resorces
Bennett Fund:
Students who have lived cross-culturally before entering Wheaton College often desire to serve the Lord as missionaries after they graduate. The George and Helen Bennett Fund for Missionary Service is a debt forgiveness opportunity for Wheaton alumni called to overseas missions. Learn more about the fund’s requirements and meet this year’s recipients who are now working in Brazil, Thailand, and Mexico.
